Equal parts fast-paced and soulful, 5 piece roots/americana band, The Way Down Wanderers, not only draw listeners in with their energy and originality but also captivate fans with their unique and touching story; Banjo player, Ben Montalbano and fiddle/mandolin player, Collin Krause, are half brothers who met each other for the first time 5 years ago. The two were shocked to find that not only were they both pursuing careers in music, but that they were each drawn to the same genres. In addition to their unexpected brotherly collaboration, the other band member's dramatically diverse backgrounds in bluegrass, jazz, classical and rap music, blend together to form unique harmony vocals, soaring instrumentals, lively dynamics and standout melodies.

Electronic/World fusion dance trio Beats Antique brings you their new album and multi-media touring show A Thousand Faces, a journey beyond the sonic realm that’s part odyssey, part genre-warping rock opera. The album is an epic two-volume adventure that follows every stage of Joseph Campbell’s hero’s journey with sweeping and lushly textured new compositions. While the fully immersive show will carry audiences through the complete journey, A Thousand Faces – Act 1 represents just the first half of the monomyth, with the second volume due out next spring.

“A Thousand Faces is meant to be an adventure for the audience, a wild ride that takes them through these mystical lands all across the globe,” says David Satori, who formed the Bay Area-based group with fellow musician/producers Tommy Cappel and Zoe Jakes in 2007. A Thousand Faces – Act 1 features a carefully curated ensemble of guest artists, including PRIMUS vocalist/bassist Les Claypool, Sarod player Alam Khan (son of legendary classical Indian musician Ali Akbar Khan), and vocalists Morgan Sorne and long-time collaborator Lynx.

For Beats Antique—who have fused genres as disparate as flamenco, afrobeat, and French Gypsy jazz since their 2007 debut Tribal Derivations—taking on a musical interpretation of the monomyth was a prime opportunity to deepen their exploration of faraway cultures. “In Beats Antique we’re always trying to cross cultures and weave together a lot of different sounds,” says Satori. “So we were very much drawn to the fact that Joseph Campbell had studied traditions all over the world and found a link between so many different mythologies, from Native American to African to Southeast Asian.” Not only embodying the spirit of cross-cultural connection, A Thousand Faces merges a spectrum of musical styles—from Indian classical music to Balinese fusion to EDM—in a manner that’s both seamless and endlessly surprising.

The AJ Ghent Band is an Americana band that fuses the sounds of southern rock, blues, soul, and funk together. AJ's songs are witty, energetic, and funky, but they have a message. The message portrayed in each song gives listening ears an outlet. Bill Evans is a world-class, Grammy® Award winning saxophonist and producer who made his debut on the international music scene in the 1980′s, at the tender age of 21, with Miles Davis – yes, the Miles Davis. Bill has been very prolific in the studio, recording 19 solo albums to date. One evening you’ll see him walk on stage as a guest with the Allman Brothers. Then next, rock out withWarren Haynes & Gov’t Mule. Then co-lead a European tour with Robben Ford or Randy Brecker. After that, he’ll jam with Medeski Martin and Wood, or trade solos with Jake Cinninger while sitting in with jam-band favorites Umphrey’s McGee. Bill is truly a 21st century renaissance man who can walk seamlessly from stage to stage.

Al Schnier & Vinnie Amico, not only play together in the premier jamband, moe., but they've also spent over 10 years recording & touring with the Americana group Al & The Transamericans. Likewise, Jason Barady spent over 10 years recording & touring with the Bluegrass group Wooden Spoon from Taos, until returning to his hometown in central, NY. Nick Piccininni is a largely self taught violinist, who learned his bluegrass chops the old fashioned way - in festival picking circles & Bluegrass Festivals. He's an award winning banjo player & fiddler in high demand on the bluegrass circuit, who also spent 2 years on the road w/ The Abrams. Bass player, Zachary Fleitz is a Berklee Graduate & Hypnotic Clambake alumnus. Zach joined forces w. Wooden Spoon & has played w. J & Nick for the last few years.

Just outside the jazz mecca of Kansas City springs liberal oasis Lawrence, Kansas— separated only by the waves of wheat from the epicenter of the electronic music revolution in Colorado. Born in funk and bred in the digital age, live electronic duo The Floozies have burst onto the scene at a time when the industry needed them the most.


Brothers Matt and Mark Hill share the stage just as easily as they share a musical brain. Without a setlist, and without a word between them, Matt’s guitar is in lockstep with the thud of Mark’s kick. Endless looping and production builds the raw scenery upon which palm muted chugs, searing solos, and wobbling bass paint their dazzling array of colors.

It's strange how the death of one musical group can be exactly the sort of catalyst needed to spawn another. KOAN Sound are certainly a highly gifted example of this phenomenon. It was in 2008 that KOAN Sound emerged from the ashes of several other musical endeavours, fusing passion for electronic music with sheer musical intuition. Start with members of three of the top bands to come out of New Orleans, The Neville Brothers, The Radiators, and The Dirty Dozen – then add a saxophonist who was James Brown’s horn director for 12 years, and a keyboard player with extraordinary talent, and you have The New Orleans Suspects. Though these two Dugas siblings have made quite the sound waves each in their own right, you always know that when they are apart, it’s only temporary. Sure enough, in 2007, their respective joining of the Canadian Juno-winning and Grammy-nominated, The Duhks, was staggered over a mere couple of seasons.

The members of Southern Rock quintet Blackberry Smoke are no strangers to hard work. Playing up to 250 dates each year, the guys are on the road more often than not, and they’ve seen tangible results of their labor. The band has toured with and befriended idols such as The Marshall Tucker Band, ZZ Top (with Billy Gibbons jamming with the band on a Florida stop), Lynyrd Skynyrd and George Jones. The band was even asked to play for Jones on his 80th birthday, not long after the country legend turned in a guest appearance on the band’s sophomore album. They’ve toured Europe thrice over, and had their songs featured in video games (EA Sports’ NASCAR 08) and films (Swing Vote), as well.
